Why Work with Deep Dive Publishers … What We Stand For. Who We Support.

Takara founded Forchianna Publishing in 2011. With Jeshua coming on board in 2021 to head up our fiction division, we decided to give it a new name to better reflect what the new company is all about. Deep Dive Publishers was born.

Fiction

For fiction, it means diving deep into the science of our science fiction. It also means delving into the depths of history for better world building in our fantasy. We also dive into the craft of character, plot, prose and dialogue.  Several novels are underway. None are yet published. Jeshua has spent years studying the writer’s craft especially for fiction.

Non-Fiction

Deep Dive Publishers in the nonfiction world is about diving deep into messages that matter! It’s about creating a legacy and helping generations to come through your wisdom and words.

A perfect example is our author client, Cat Parenti. In her extraordinary two book series, Afghanistan: From Brooklyn to Kabul, she shares her life as a single woman from Brooklyn living, finding love, and establishing a business in Afghanistan. And then the tragic experiences that occurred because of the Russian invasion and the rise of the Taliban. Her books go so deeply into the customs and culture, the food and people, it is as if you are there with her. Full of laughter, tears, shock, and more than one experience of almost dying, Cat’s story shows the western world what the Muslim culture is really all about rather than what most have been led to believe. And it can be deeply transformational for women as they read about how gutsy and empowered Cat was under such dire circumstances. Both books in the series became #1 bestsellers.

Another example is one of our current author success clients, Cindy J Holbrook, who is working on sharing her story of going through a deeply traumatic childhood and learning to rise above her past to become someone who empowers others. Cindy already had an agreement with another publisher before she found us. Now we are helping her pen, publish, and promote her new book … even though we aren’t the publisher.

Another example is our author success and life transformation client, Mark Boldizar. He reached out to Takara for help with a book idea he had. In their very first meeting, Takara was “inspired” to ask him what he really wanted to do with his life, the contribution he wanted to make. With her coaching support, he went from very unhappy in the corporate world to thriving as an entrepreneur making more money than ever before. As she continued to help him flesh out his ideas for the new book, she shared much of what she had learned over 40 years of manifesting successfully and he eventually asked her to co-author the book. They each contributed 50% of the content.

Then Takara put on her publishing hat and created the website, designed the cover, rewrote most of Mark’s words, did the interior design, designed and managed the launch campaign, and all the other things needed to launch a book to bestseller status. Jeshua edited all of it. Both the book and ebook of Unleash Your Future: The Powerful 5 Step Formula to Transform Your Dreams into Reality Through the Law of Attraction became international bestsellers in several categories.

Bestselling Author Coach Takara Shelor

Takara Shelor is best known for helping authors become bestsellers and individuals to ignite their intuitive gifts and experience profound personal transformation so they can achieve their dreams. For almost three decades, she’s helped thousands of people from over 100 countries discover the diamonds and gold within … their unique gifts and talents, their passion, their purpose, and their joy.

She is a 4-time bestselling author of Peering Through the Veil: The Step-by-Step Guide to Meditation and Inner Peace; co-author of Unleash Your Future, endorsed by Jack Canfield and awarded the Must Read Seal of Approval from Law of Attraction Magazine; creator, manager, and co-author of Dolphins and Whales Forever; and contributing author of Extraordinary Teams. She is also an award-winning speaker, engineer, and mystic.

She’s been featured on radio, podcasts, and summits for many years. Her articles have been featured in national and international magazines, newspapers, and online news sources for decades.  Her clients include National Sales Trainer, Bill Caskey, and bestselling authors: Mark Boldizar, Cat Parenti, Joan Ocean, Grandma Chandra, Laurie Reyon, Sierra Goodman and many more. She’s shared the stage with Arielle Ford, Dr. Bernie Siegel, Noah St. John, Jill Lublin, Christine Kloser, Iman Aghay, and Dudley Evenson.

She teaches personal empowerment, manifesting mastery, and how to be successful as an author or entrepreneur. She became a professional editor while putting herself through college back in the early 1980’s. Later, she was an editor for Institute of Industrial Engineers Magazine. She worked as a professional industrial engineer and manager of multi-million dollar projects and over 40 people for ten years before leaving corporate life to co-found a non-profit for dolphins and whales. She built her first website in 1996 for that non-profit. There were just over 200,000 websites on the entire world wide web at the time. She’s been helping authors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses with web design and online marketing strategies ever since.

In 2000, she wrote her first book and followed that with several more. They were available as PDF downloads from her website. People all over the world sent her checks and money orders by mail. Ah … the good ‘ol days. When one of her ebooks won an award, she decided it was time to put something into print. For years she’d  studied the publishing business: reading many books on the subject, attended countless online summits, blasting one of her publisher friends with an endless array of questions, and doing deep dives into the author success programs of Jack Canfield, Steve Harrison, Mark Joyner, Derek Murphy, David T. Fagan and many others. Her first book in print was an instant bestseller and she’s been helping other authors write and publish their books ever since. She’s now passing along her four decades of editing, web design, business and author success wisdom to her son, Jeshua, the co-founder of Deep Dive Publishers.

An accomplished polymath, she’s done a bit of everything: winning Awards of Excellence while utilizing her Industrial Engineering skills to manage multi-million dollar projects in the corporate world; single-handedly running the internet department of a thriving Nissan dealership; living on a million dollar yacht in Fiji and the South Pacific; and owning and managing a shamanic healing center in Santa Fe, NM. When she’s not helping aspiring authors get their messages that matter out into the world, she’s swimming with wild dolphins somewhere in the tropics or hiking in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Author Coach Jeshua Hicks

Jeshua Hicks is co-founder of Deep Dive Publishers, co-author of an upcoming book on writer education, and is a sci-fi and fantasy author. He supports and trains fellow writers in cleaning up and improving their manuscripts to be ready for publication. In helping writers become authors and authors become entrepreneurs, he also lends a hand by providing web design, book interior design, Amazon and social media profile creation, and other author services.

Thanksgiving was a more than welcome reprieve during his first semester of college. Between family gatherings, he managed to binge-read Dune. It was a life changing experience offering new perspectives on so many aspects of life. That was the catalyst for his current life direction.

Although he was top of his class in several subjects in college and even on the Dean’s List, President’s List, and in the Honor Society, he quit school after 2 years to pursue the world of writing and publishing and has rarely looked back.

Being in the writer’s zone is awesome! Isn’t it?

He’s lived in many places across North America as well as on a yacht in the South Pacific. While living in New Mexico, surrounded by the 8 Northern Pueblos, he was immersed in the Native American culture of the region. In the South Pacific, he was a guest at a traditional Fijian feast held by one of the tribes. Exposure to so many different cultures around the world made him realize that we’re all so much more alike than different. That bleeds through into his day to day life, his writing, and how he helps his clients.
